WHO'S WHO:

Ashley Minihan (Playwright) received her MFA in playwriting from Columbia University School of the Arts and was a finalist for the Lila Acheson Wallace American Playwrights Program at the Juilliard School.  Ashley's play "Ophelia" was produced at the New York International Fringe Festival and by Arizona Classical Theatre; other works have been developed with the Lark, the Actors Studio, Columbia Stages, and Six Part Productions.  Ashley is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America, Inc. Heartfelt thanks to Matthew Klein and Six Part Productions for offering this exciting opportunity to re-explore “The Assistant."

Kelly Johnston (Director) is happy to work on The Assistant again. His other work stretches from coast to coast at such venues as the Alley Theatre, GeVa Theatre, the West Coast Ensemble, and the Virginia Arts Festival. He is the former Artistic Director of the Arizona Shakespeare Festival, a co-Artistic Director of Rogue and Peasant Players, and a member of the SDC. He's the proud parent of two daughters and two cats and is married to the coolest gal in the world. He dedicates this show to his mother, who doesn't really understand what he does, but is proud of him anyway. Kelly is extraordinarily fond of pie.


David Bunch (Craig) is appearing on stage for the first time in six years and is thrilled to be a part of "The Assistant". In his former life he appeared at the Tennessee Williams Festival in New Orleans, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, and Peterborough Players in New Hampshire. David is also an excitable rock drummer who is pleased not to have perished in a freak accident to this point.  He lives in Astoria with his lovely wife and daughter.

Gina Trebiani (Julie) is very excited to be working again with Kelly Johnston and reprise her role as Julie. Her recent theater credits include reprising the role at the Actors Studio in their first annual "Best Plays We've Seen All Year Festival" She was also seen touring NYC parks for the Fringe Festival in Much Ado About Nothing playing four separate characters (Dogberry, Friar, Don Pedro, and Ursula). Nowadays she can be seen performing sketch comedy at UCB, the Duplex, or any place that has four walls and the ability for people to watch her with her sketch group "No Filters Please."

Leslie Ann Kent (Stage Manager) received her Bachelors Degree in Stage Management for Theatre from the California Institute of the Arts. In addition to teaching her an astonishing array of marketable skills, her time at CalArts also provided her with the love of her life, to whom she is currently married. Her work on this show is dedicated to the late David Pickett, whose memory lives on for her in his love of theatre and the performances he left behind.

Ian Wehrle (Sound and Projection Design) is an active composer, actor and collaborator on various music direction and sound design for theater.
